Answer Calls of Nature With Portable Toilets

It isn’t necessarily something I like to think about when I’m planning a short camping trip, long camper journey, or even a tailgating event, but when people spend a lot of time outside eating and drinking – especially drinking – sooner or later we’re going to need to use the facilities.  The problem is that often there aren’t any, or at least any that you’d actually want to use.  So, while it may not be something I want to put on my shopping list, I’ve come to realize a portable toilet is probably something that should be there. 

Tailgating takes its name from where it traditionally takes place: out the back of a vehicle, ideally in the parking lot of the arena where the game is being held.  While these events are great fun and a great way to support a team even if I can’t get tickets, stadiums aren’t always thrilled about letting people in off the streets to use the restroom.  It’s the same principle as using a gas station bathroom without buying a soda but on the scale of hundreds of people or more.  Even if I do get in, the lines are generally unbearably long.  Being able to offer an alternative for myself and anyone I’m tailgating with has been a lifesaver.

The same is true for camping.  Granted, most campgrounds have facilities, but some of them are less than sanitary. Especially at three in the morning which is when “Nature” seems to be most insistent.  Wandering through a dark campground to even the cleanest bathroom is never fun and worse if I’m traveling with kids.  Portable toilets pay for themselves in convenience and safety after almost the first use.
