There are those who claim that the true wilderness experience is only enjoyed in the open, under the stars, with just a sleeping bag. I am not one of those. Night in the woods should, at the very least, involve a nice secure outdoor camping tent. A good tent keeps heat in and inclement weather – not to mention random animals – out, as well as providing that sense of security walls give. But mainly, they keep you dry if it starts to rain.
Not that Ineed to be far away from civilization to feel the need for a nice camping tent, tent accessories or things like portable canopies. Traveling by staying in campgrounds is economical and a great way to meet people. Visiting a city for several days, seeing the sights, and coming back to the tent at night means my family and I don’t blow our whole budget on a room that we pretty much just sleep in. Add an addition like a portable outdoor canopy and we’ve got shade during our meals on really hot days.
Outdoor canopies also extend the apparent size of the tent during the day. This is great if we’re at a more wilderness-oriented campground and are spending most of the day near the tent. Travel camping is becoming a lost art due to our dependence on electronics, but with the right outdoor camping tent and accessories, it can be a great way to truly get away from it all.
Outdoor canopies are also great for things like day trips to the beach or even the park. Shade should never be overrated and portables canopies can cool and comfort my entire family on a hot summer day. No more fighting over a single beach umbrella.
